B2 visa in Beijing
My mom just applied B2 visa in Beijing and was denied. The officer asked the following questions. In 2008, my mom stayed in Canada with us for 1 year.
1. How many children do you have?
two. One is in China and one is in States.
2. Why do you want to go to States?
Visit my son
3. How long do you stay in Canada? What did you do there?
1 year. First I attend my dauther-in-law's graduate ceremony and it is in Winter. In summer, I traveled several place.
The the officer said that I can not give you visa.
She thinks that my mom stays in Canada too long.
What's wrong here? What supporta application files should we prepare? Can my mom apply the visa after 2 months? Thanks.

我觉得是vo太吝啬了，在其他国家合法呆一年怎么不可以，如果是合法的，又何来太长了呢
多久以后再申请都可以，我上次是隔了一个月申请到时间的。
多准备些她会回中国的证据吧

Thanks for your replying. Actually, my mom prepares lots of supporting files, saving, housing and the photoes of my brother's family. Also my dad is still working in China and he does not apply the visa. But the VO did not even see those files.

Here is my background.
I went to Canada to do my Ph.D in sep 2004. In April 2009, I came to States to do Postdoc. From December 2010, I am an assistant professor in a university. BTW, all the family member including my wife, my kids are Canadian. So far, I did not apply US green card yet. I did not go back to China for more than 4 years. Thanks.
