前两天去Ottawa签证，H1B stamping，签证官给了一年的有效期。入关的时候，被告知
，我的签证还有8个月过期，而我需要提前6个月办理新护照，所以加注我必须在2个月
之内办理新护照，否则stamping作废，我当时跟他argue，结果他说我有我的rule，他
有他的rule，一度还不想让我入境，说要申请wavier，后来他长官给我wavier了。大家
看一下这种情况合理么？在申请新护照也没啥，但是问题是恰找一个月后要去欧洲，而
申请新护照又要一个月，这样恰好签证过期，怎么就赶的这么巧呢。。。

谁让你不早点拿新护照呢？提前一年就可以拿。 护照有效期小于6个月不让入境

好吧，这是我的错，那么2个月之内办不下护照，是不是visa就过期了，我需要重新申请visa？但我可以在美国继续凭有效H1B工作？谢谢。

visa will be valid, as long as you have a new passport. but you will need bring both new and old passports.
passport renewal has express service, just do it quick

thank you. I am in DC right now, so I have to submit the old passport to DC Chinese embassy which transports it to NY. I read online that it does not renew passport or provide express service. I wish I were wrong so I can use the express service.
I think I am fine if the visa expires. This just mean I need to reapply visa when I enter US but I can work legally in US, right.
