I have been looking for information regarding the PIMS. Which webpage did you see that we could fax the I 797 to the consulate? i actually even called the call center to ask and the custom representative said he 'never heard of PIMS and faxing to the consulate'.
Please give any advice or lead on 1) how to find out whether the information is in PIMS 2) how to avoid PIMS check.
Because I will have my interview at Hong Kong, here's the page about PIMS on Hong Kong US Consulate's website, but I believe the same rule applies to all the visa process no matter where you apply.
apparently the attorney had no clue how to do the verification in the U.S. She said 'it can only be initiated by the DOS' and she does not have advice how to contact DOS or KCC to find out whether the petition information is in PIMS or how to get the information in it.
Anyone got any advice or suggestion from your attorney to share?
btw, what is the fax number we should use for faxing?

提前2周预约的，因为美国那边把我的I-797B以平信方式寄过来，我至今还没收到原件，我面试的时候拿了复印件，而广州预约的时候特别提醒是要原件的，所以大使馆面试时收集材料的女孩特别进里边问了复印件行不行，等我拿着材料面试时，上面贴了纸条说没有I-797B原件，面试的女签管也问我没原件的原因，同样也进去问了，出来后就给了蓝条，但又给另一张纸说是需要大概三周的行政处理，我回来后查了一下，有可能是需要PIMS VERIFICATION，有可能是CHECK，但是CHECK的话不可能给蓝条说签证通过了

就算是CHECK了，其实也是可以通过的，你放心好了，只是时间问题。 关于PIMS， 其实使馆的网站上有写说要提前把I797邮件或传真给使馆，有时可以避免被Check.

如果签证官只是要I-797复印件，那很有可能是PIMS verification；如果是要你的简历，公司证明，工作计划，公司/实验室介绍，LCA等等那很有可能是敏感专业check.

楼上的没搞明白，因为没有出示I-797原件，所以签管进去问了其他人，出来后给了蓝条但要进行行政处理，离开的时候把I-797复印件给了我，OFFER LETTER，简历什么的她留着了，没给我

you only fax your I-797 to the consulate only when they tell you to.
the call center dont know jackshit.
to avoid/verify PIMS check, the best bet is consult with your lawyer.

I797-A就可以了。
I797-B是要求出境签的。A是有I94的，B应该没有。

关于PIMS是这样的：H1B通常是通过公司的律师办理，获批后I797的文件律师一般会给H1B holder一份原件，但是同时律师需要将I7979同时寄送或者fax给KCC.
为了减少签证类别出现伪造文件的情况，同时也为加快海外使领馆的签证效率，美国国务院采用了PIMS系统。PIMS是一个独立的数据库，由美国国务院下属的肯塔基使领馆管理中心（Kentucky Consular Center，KCC）负责维护和管理。每一个移民局批准的H, L, O, P, 或O类签证申请，KCC会负责把申请资料和批准书扫描输入PIMS数据库。世界各地的使领馆在审理签证之时都能够看到申请人递交的全部资料和批准通知。
据美国国务院和美国移民局的统计表明，将近100%的批准通知会在24至48小时之内输入PIMS数据库。因此，在申请人前往美国使领馆面谈的时候，签证官在面签之时是可以审阅到申请人的全部材料。另外，在PIMS数据库没有显示申请已经被批准之前，签证官是不会批准签证的。
所以想说明的是，无论你面签的时候持有的I797原件或复印件，签证官唯一考证的信息就是PIMS系统中是否存在你的信息，不会根据原件或复印件而决定给不给签证。如果帮你办理的律师没有把你的文件CC给KCC，那么就需要你自己面约前来做这件事。
