Second time for H1B. Last year the visa was issued right away although there was some concern. I was at Window 7 today (if it helps)
The interview was chatty and smooth. But he seems to be allergic to gene/DNA terms. What can I say? Three weeks. 'I understand you are travling in a tight schedule, but we recommend people to have flexible traveling date'. Not really helpful. He only took my CV and the employment letter. I offered my papers, but he was not interested.

我是12号签的，h1b返签（第二次），跟第一次（11年）一样被check。
也是7号窗口，是个年轻人，后面还坐着个比较senior的人。没问多少实质的问题，看着我的CV在电脑里打了一会儿，扔出一张pink纸条。
专业是marine engineering。现在还在等，希望能早点结束。

你第一次签H1B 被CHECK了多久啊， 一般等个4-6周也是正常的，耐心等待吧！

第一次是整4个礼拜；
本以为是第二次返签，不会连续check。这次不是赶上holiday season了，已经错过了Thanksgiving，希望能在下月初能clear。有家小的伤不起啊。

你是H1B，我有个朋友是博士后签J1，也是每次签都CHECK，敏感的专业老美都是很小心。最近节日比较多，可能工作效率也低吧，祝你早日拿到签证。

我是上面12号H1B返签的那位。我今天只是在DOS查询申请状态的网站上看到我的申请被issued，现在处于final processing。还没有收到complete的通知。
明天领馆放假，不知道周五能不能收到正式通知。:)

我来update一下：
领馆昨天晚上给我email通知去指定的中信银行领护照了。
时间表：
11/12 - Interview, CHECK;
11/26 - Clear from DOS website;
11/28 - Notice for pick-up.
比预期的快，前年（上半年）我等了整4个礼拜。
BTW,这里的验证码总是很难通过，为什么？

11/19 check
11/30 clearance received (saw it on the visa stamp)
12/02 status update date, still AP
12/03 issued
12/06 got a call from the bank for pickup, no email. The passport tracking still says 'received from consulate section, in the process for delivery' though, :).
It seems to me that status update date reflects the fact that the clearance has been received. The status updators only work on weekdays obviously.
