Shanghai, H1B passed on Dec 10, 2010

Many young kids showed up for visa in Shanghai consulate this afternoon, I guess they applied for F1 mostly. Only a few people applied for H1B visa.

I am EE background, was check in F1`a few years ago. I transferred to H1B status inside USA, this is the first time to apply for H1B visa in China.

The VO asked the girl before me one interesting question---"where did you have your breakfast?" The girl was surprised and couldn't response until VO asked the third time, fortunately she passed too. I asked VO why he asked the girl that question, he said he just wanted to make sure she could communicate with English fluently.

The VO only asked me a few simple question, "what is your job", "my job is XXX". Then I passed. Will get visa stamp in EMS next week. No background check, thank God.

Another H1B applicant with civil engineering background was approved before me. Not sure about the others.
