我是九月一日下午在成都领馆签的。J1，第一次签。VO是个老太太。之前中秘说我的照片不合适，但她们想帮我试一下，不行的话通知我赶紧去补照一张，期间未接到补照通知。
ME: good afternoon,Madam
VO: good afternoon. How are you.
ME: fine！Thanks！
VO：I will see your CV, your supervisor's CV and your research plan.
（给她我的英文简历，外导英文简历，research plan和国内导师中文简历，随之国内导师的简历被退了出来）
VO：Have you ever travelled overseas before?
ME: no!
VO:(smiling)You have a lot to experience.
ME: yeah! I will be a freshman in US.
VO:(给我一张邮寄的小绿票，同时递出签过字的DS2019）Take this to the post office and register with EMS.
ME: Thanks!
VO: （看我愣着不动）You off！（没听清，想在想来有可能是you'll wait)
ME: Thanks!(离开）
九月21日，签证通过。

今天早上拿到签证，发现把我要去的学校名字写错了。按说要给领馆发传真说明问题。不了解这个怎么处理？传真是写英文的还是中文的？（之前和领馆写信用英文人家回中文）要改的话是否得把签证寄回领馆？

My H4 visa is being checked in Chengdu almost a month already. How do you know if the visa is cleared or not? Is there any website or telephone I can reach to ask the status of the process?

You can not know that through the consulate. I know the clearance by checking the EMS status.
