刚打电话给上海签证预约call center, 被告之预约签证要先知识交签证费？请大家讲讲是这样吗？不是不交费， 只是家住城市没有办签证服务的中信银行。

Right. It's a new policy. I found it very annoying. In Beijing, my mom was also asked to show the original passport when making the payment for me (I'm in the US). But eventually they accepted a photocopy.
