A question about make visa appointment

Hi, could somebody give me some advice about on which day should I schedule the visa appointment(H-1B)? My air plane is scheduled to arrive in Shanghai on Saturday. Do you think there’s enough time for me to get the visa at consulate on Monday or should I make visa appointment on Tuesday? My concern is that I’m in Northeast USA and my flight will connect in Chicago airport. Since in winter days air plane may always be possibly delay, I’m afraid that I may not be able to arrive in time on Saturday. Do you think it safe with just one buffer day (Sunday)? Is it possible for international flights late for 2 days?

Also, will the bank for visa payment be open on Sunday? I don’t think there’s anything else we have to do in Shanghai right before visa interview, right?

Thanks. My vacation time is very short and I want to stay at home as long as possible.

Anything,the flight, the visa appointment depends on your luck. It's much more harder to make a visa appointment on the day you want than the chance of flight delay. Call the visa appointment service phone, you might be depressed by the earliest slot you can get. Keep calling, you might get the appointment on next week if you are luck enough.

No. Actually, I plan to make visa appointment next February. However, it seems Feb appointment is not open yet. I have bought my air ticket, but have no idea when I can apply for visa stamp.
