Directly booked the ticket from the website of AA, as it offered a lower price than any of the agents I called. Flights by AA currently are cheaper than flights by other airline companies such as UA and NWA, at least for my route and time.
Checked few agents US side, price for AA and UA for 6 months has been increased. The quotes some agents gave me are around the same or even higher than price on AA.com.
Sister checked several agents from Shanghai and the price increased too.
